Great bar area reminiscent of a German beer hall with lots of tables, wood panelling and a warm fire! The rest of the hotel is more upmarket. Food was good with big portions. Happy to have a veggie Sunday roast (served until 8pm)

Came here to celebrate my brother in law’s birthday.
Lovely location with some stunning views. The hotel is lovely. The Staff led by Will and Iolo were brilliant. Food was great. We had the trout, lamb and beef roast. The kids menu was devoured by the 6 year old.
Service exceptional, the drinks flowed would definitely recommend.

Lovely hotel, beautifully decorated with friendly staff in a lovely location. It was a great base for cycling and walking in the local area. Including at the nearby Bwlch Nant-yr-Arian forest park.
The hotel dining room/bar had a great vibe, with a good menu and selection of drinks.

Had lunch here and it was amazing. We had a very helpful member of staff. Food was great and the atmosphere was lovely and relaxed. So relaxed the dog fell asleep on the rug 😁

Previous reviews being mixed we were a bit unsure but thought we'd chance it.
So glad we did! Lovely friendly staff (,got a bit of Welsh practice in too!) and the food arrived in remarkably quick time.
We both had the cider battered fish and chips and it was gorgeous.
Good choice of local beers and ciders (recommend the Black Dragon!) and a lovely roaring fire to take off the chill of a soggy day!
Definitely will come again.

Booked a table while on holiday. Saw some mixed reviews but we absolutely delighted with the meal, atmosphere, pleasant service. We had fish and chips which was cooked to perfection and really tast. Big thanks to the hotel for the nice welcome and experience, so definitely would ignore any of the bad reviews and book a table if you ate thinking of.coming here. The beer is great as well.
Thank you

The Hafod is such a special place! The location is majestic and the rooms are full of character and comfort. With wonderful, welcoming staff and excellent food, this hotel is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. With Devil's Bridge at the doorstep, it was lovely to be able to wake up early to complete the waterfall hike before it got busy. Stay for the Sunday roast!

Excellent hotel, made better by the staff, excellent holiday location for Devils bridge falls.
Double room was very well located, good standard, brilliant bathroom, very modern. Just need extra hanging options especially for wet clothes ( it is Wales ☔). Had everything we needed. Food was above expectations, faultless breakfast, best poached eggs we've ever had, perfect every day. You need a big appetite!!. Very busy even at lunchtime, however, staff reserved tables for residents on Bed, breakfast and evening meals. They met my Gluten free diet every time, could not fault the selection available

My chicken stir fry was bland and no real flavours, the chicken was dry as was my wife's chicken in her curry, the rice was crunchy and her chicken was also burnt on the top.
The food is not cheap and I expected more.
The young girl serving apologised and said she would tell the chef. No managers about to deal with the complaint.
ii feel nexperienced staff are being let down by the lack of managerial back up.
Our table which we booked yesterday hadn't been cleaned or set and the whole experience seemed to more mirror a cheap canteen rather than a classy restaurant.
Although later in the evening it seemed to book up its ideas and at least cleaned the tables. Such a shame for such a beautiful setting.
Pull your finger out management this is on you.

We stopped for dinner here on 25/6/24. The food was absolutely delicious. We both had the steak and mushroom pie but had different puddings, both of which were out of this world. Tomorrow is the last day of our holiday and we’re planning on going back, it was so good and the best food we found anywhere.
